Poor Ora Walton had bravely recovered from two muggings and vowed to battle on, but the pensioner died just weeks after being attacked ...for a third time.
Distraught relatives said the 84-year-old never recovered from the latest robbery where a thug knocked her to the floor and snatched her £136 pension.
Great nephew Chris Parkinson said that after her third mugging in two years, Ora became so frightened she would not leave the house. He added: "She never really recovered.She said it hadn't bothered her but you could tell it had.
"She was putting a brave face on it, but she was really frightened. She was too scared to go out. If she went out, she used to go by taxi.
"She had already been mugged and had her bag snatched while out shopping, but she kept on going."
Ora, who lived with her widowed sister Amy Parkinson, 86, was attacked after she collected her pension at her nearby Post office in Burnley.
She suffered severe bruising to her legs and arms. Ora said at the time: "He must have been watching me and followed me home. I didn't see him because he was so quick. He knocked me on the floor and I couldn't get up.
"He took my purse and I never made it home with my pension. I wanted to use it to pay a few bills and do the shopping. I needed that money to live on."
She was found collapsed on her bedroom floor by Amy. The first of Ora's attacks took place in a back street when she had her bag snatched. Later, two men claiming to be from the gas board burst into her home and stole her Christmas
